Cultivating Classrooms for Connection, Growth, and Engagement

September 23 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
$220

NEW!

Description:

This workshop has been designed to support educators as they strengthen their use of evidence-based classroom practices to create positive learning environments. Preventative, proactive classroom behavior practices will be prioritized with some attention to responsive techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to create an action plan, which will support the context-specific application of new skills.

Participants will:

  • Learn how a data, systems, and practices framework, when applied to a classroom setting, increases equity and outcomes by meeting the needs of all students;
  • Identify and describe characteristics of evidence-based preventative and responsive classroom practices to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs;
  • Increase understanding of tools and procedures used to scale habits of effective classroom practices, including the creation of a context-specific action plan.

While this workshop and the August 19th webinar complement each other, it is not required to attend both. Both the webinar and the in-person workshop will be presented by Nicole Peterson, Ph.D. Research Associate, University of Connecticut; Northeast PBIS Leadership Team.

There will also be an opportunity for a series of follow-up web-based communities of practice to support the application of the skills and practices.

Who Should Attend:

While intended for K-12 educators who are new to the field, their school, or their grade level, those who support educators and/or lead PBIS teams may find the session useful to stay current on evidence-based practices and implementation supports.
