DESCRIPTION:New This Year – Full-Day Training! \nDescription: \nSchool administrative assistants are likely the first people that students\, staff\, families/caregivers\, and other community members see when entering the building. On top of the day-to-day responsibilities (i.e.\, phones\, computers\, scheduling\, etc.)\, administrative assistants must effectively communicate with anyone who walks into the building. This workshop will provide an opportunity to enhance communication skills with the people they connect with all day\, every day. Learn techniques for designing your classroom environment to facilitate typical instructional activities\, including considerations for: \n\narranging furniture and organizing instructional materials; \nconsidering unique student needs;\nensuring accessibility; and \npromoting inclusion. \n\nParticipants will see examples of visuals that support critical content and learning practices and reflect the diversity of the classroom community. SUMMARY:Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
DESCRIPTION:Full Certification or Refresher Training \nDescription: \nThis workshop provides teams with decision-making skills to match the level of the response to the risk of a crisis\, focusing on the least restrictive response to ensure the Care\, Welfare\, Safety\, and Security℠ of all. This includes recognizing the stages of an escalating crisis\, learning evidence-based techniques to appropriately de-escalate\, safe and non-harmful physical intervention techniques\, and creating a safer learning environment and culture of safety. \nTime: \nCPI (Full Training): 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (8:00 – 8:30 registration) (morning refreshments and lunch included) \nCPI (Refresher Training): 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (afternoon snack included) \nWho Should Attend: \nCPI (Full Training): Completion of the Full CPI training leads to CPI certification. \nCPI (Refresher Training): If you have already completed a Full CPI Training within the last 12 months\, there is a 3-hour CPI Refresher Training to review CPI principles and strategies\, as well as opportunities for practice and problem-solving.
