Webinar: Setting up your Classroom for Success
New This Year!
Description:
Strengthen your use of evidence-based practices to create a positive and effective learning environment right from the start. Learn techniques for designing your classroom environment to facilitate typical instructional activities, including considerations for:
- arranging furniture and organizing instructional materials;
- considering unique student needs;
- ensuring accessibility; and
- promoting inclusion.
Participants will see examples of visuals that support critical content and learning practices and reflect the diversity of the classroom community. Lastly, make a plan for establishing and maintaining positive connections with students, families, and other members of the classroom community.
This webinar can be followed by a full-day in-person workshop on September 23rd.
Both the webinar and the in-person workshop will be presented by Nicole Peterson, Ph.D. Research Associate, University of Connecticut; Northeast PBIS Leadership Team.
There will also be an opportunity for a series of follow-up web-based communities of practice to support the application of the skills and practices.
Who Should Attend:
While intended for K-12 educators new to the field, their school, or their grade level, all educators working in or supporting classrooms may find the session useful to stay current on evidence-based practices.
