Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide systems approach that proactively supports positive behavior through a continuum of interventions and supports. The broad purpose of PBIS is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of schools and other agencies. PBIS improves social, emotional, and academic outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities and students from underrepresented groups. Throughout the following courses, you will learn the basic components and implementation strategies of the PBIS framework across the tiers/layers of implementation.
