To be considered part of the VTPBIS Network of Active Schools, schools must:

  • Complete training with the VTPBIS State Team;
  • Use data, including completion of annual assessments:
    • Completion of Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) by team, not just administrator/coordinator
    • Completion of at least one perception survey:
      • Self-Assessment Survey (SAS) (must be completed by staff, not just the PBIS team)
      • School Climate Survey completed by at least one audience: staff, students, family/caregivers
      • Feedback and Input Survey completed by at least one audience: staff, students, family/caregivers;
  • Maintain ongoing contact with assigned State TA and/or VTPBIS Coach and/or SU/SD PBIS Coordinator.

Schools in the VTPBIS Network receive:

  • dedicated, FREE support from their assigned technical assistance provider (TA), who provides PBIS experience, expertise, & an external perspective through monthly connection, resources, and as-needed consultation;
  • access to implementation coaching from a VTPBIS state-approved coach (cost associated);
  • regular, timely communication and resources;
  • eligibility to receive annual VTPBIS acknowledgments based on fidelity of implementation;
  • lower minimum case threshold per school-based mental health clinician (8, instead of 10 in non-PBIS schools) in schools where school-based clinicians from Vermont Designated Agencies participate in MTSS/PBIS work.

VTPBIS Annual Acknowledgements

The VTPBIS State Team acknowledges PBIS schools for their achievements each year at our Fall VTPBIS Forum.

Bronze, silver, and gold medals

NEW THIS YEAR!

VTPBIS schools can now work toward earning bronze, silver, or gold levels of fidelity. Please see the rubric here for all information! Your TA is available to help you reach your goal!

Why the change? Since COVID hit in 2020, our usual acknowledgement system (where we designated schools as merit or exemplar) has been on hold. Coming out of the pandemic, the VTPBIS State Team took this opportunity to reenvision our acknowledgement system. By using three levels of recognition and having a clear rubric, we are hoping that more schools will see themselves within the possibilities for acknowledgement and that we will be able to recognize schools at various levels of implementation, including those who strive for the “gold medal”!
